A total of 30 boxes will be built in different shipyards Ficantieri and used for the removal of the remains of the “Costa Concordia” as part of the rescue plan to be implemented by the Italian-American consortium Titan-Micoperi. These airtight boxes weighing about 11500 tonnes will be used to straighten and refloat the vessel so that it can be removed “one piece”.
